Nowadays, many internet marketing campaign primarily focus is to direct high volume of traffic to their websites. And “Yes” many of the campaigns achieve that with impressive click volumes but it fail to achieve positive ROI. There are a lot of campaign out there are losing money and did not achieve a satisfaction result because they overlook the importance of Landing Page. The followings are some errors which internet marketers make.
Does not Understand the Importance of Landing Page
Landing pages are the first impressions of your company, after your prospective customers click on your advertisement from Google or Yahoo! With paid advertisement, your company can direct the customers to the landing page, which best associated to the search keyword. And the objective of a landing page is to induce users to take a particular action like
- Make an enquiry about your product.
- Purchase your product.
- Sign up for newsletter.
But many internet marketers choose to neglect them.
Users cannot find what they are looking for
Once a user “land” on the landing page, he is expecting to see information which is described on your “Paid Advertisement”. If he cannot find, most likely he will exit from the page and your campaign will bleed cash. Below are the most common mistakes.
i. Overloading of Landing Page.
Don’t pack too much information into the landing page and try to be specific and focus. Landing pages with too many options doesn’t perform very well. User attention will be divided and chances of conversion are low, hence your campaign will be bleeding.
ii. Home Page is the Landing Page
This is the most common mistake which I find. Most online advertisement is directed to the home page. Most of the time, when users land on the home page, they will start browsing around, and if they cannot find what they want, will exit from the page immediately. So if you are advertising for a particular product or service, bring him directly to that page.
iii. Contact Form is the Landing Page
Nowadays, online users are smart, so do not expect them to give you their contact details so easily. You need to provide them with more relevant product information to encourage them to take the desired action.
iv. Brief Copy is the Best Copy
If you are unable to provide enough information about your service or product to the users, there will unlikely to have any conversion. Try to describe your product in short paragraph and in point form. By providing relevant information will enable search engine spider to pick up these keywords.
